Elvira earned a degree of fine art from the lyme academy college of fine arts in old lyme, connecticut. since moving to the conneticut shoreline she has been fascinated by this landscape that is so close to her home town yet so different. born to a basque immigrant father and a puerto rican mother, elvira's work focuses on themes of place, home and memory as a way to understand what it means to come from such a diverse background. Deeply rooted in this landscape and her heart always connected to the basque country and the island of puerto rico, she tells the story of the places she calls home and the memories that inspire her to create.
